Twi'lek of the Gods?

Hello Admiral… I'm lounging in my quarters on my new ship! I knew we could do it. I knew it. But, as with all things, there is, of course, a story to go along with this change in my life.

First, Dev and I couldn't find a rebel cell on Dyyra. We did, however, find another member of the rebellion. His name is Matthew Decker. Apparently, he went through some of the rebellion training courses with Dev… I didn't know the rebellion had training courses. Matthew told us where a rebellion cell was and because of our time limitation, Dev asked us to have Matthew help while he went to report in. He also told us, because he knew we'd check his background, that Matthew is an Ex-Imperial marine who defected to join the rebellion. Then, Dev took off for parts unknown, promising to meet up with us later.

The next day, Yahnna and I called a meeting in one of the privacy booths in the spaceport. We were beginning to discuss doing the mission with Geehan, Matthew, me and Yahnna when me and Matthew saw someone trying to listen in on the privacy booth.

Taking the reins, Yahnna opened the door, saw who it was and yanked him in, practically by his tentacles. We were both on edge. Even I had leapt up, hand on my blaster. It turned out to be Jela'han, the Twi'lek who was the middle man in this mission. Apparently, he had been looking for Yahnna and once he found out that we were going to do the Lambda mission, he declared that he was going to join the crew.

Yahnna, being Yahnna, demanded to know why and how he could benefit us. She made me go through it. She certainly was going to make him got through it, too. Both me and Yahnna figured out in short order that Jela'han was on the run from some of his creditors. Of course, I'm sure Yahnna would use this information to her… our… advantage if need be. However, his talents were rather suddenly displayed when we noticed the hubbub going on outside the privacy booth.

When we opened the door, we discovered Imperial Storm troopers were flooding in and taking over the station. People were in a panic. All I could think was that the Relentless was probably hanging over the planet and we had the now departed William Travers to thank for it. Even the Sawa guards were in tizzy.

Jela'han told us that he had a ship waiting for us on the other side of the station, only 1.5 miles away. We took off that way, only to discover that the Storm troopers were in control of the command center of the docks. R2-A2 and Geehan managed to get into the security system, find the maintenance tunnels to the ship and set up a diversion on the other side of the station.

It was slow going and dirty to get there, but, we made it. I was getting A2 out of the tunnels when I heard a firefight outside of the docking bay. Apparently, they had a Storm trooper guarding each docking bay door. By the time I got up there, and took a shot, the rest had dealt with the Storm troopers. Yahnna and Jela'han were hurt but both sufficed with med packs.

We ran into the docking bay and could not believe the decrepit derelict of a ship that Jela'han had waiting for us. It was called something in Twi'lek that meant: Hot Needle in the Eye. It looked like a broken down missile, but we had not choice, in we went and I buckled down, praying to the Force that this rust bucket would hold together. And, like a missile, we shot off toward Velwa and our mission. Amazingly enough, we saw that it wasn't the Relentless over Dyyra. Just two Destroyer ships. I was surprised.

I spent most of those six very long, tedious days practicing my meditation, channeling the Force and learning to fight in freefall. That was an experience. By the way, did you know Twi'leks snore? At least, Jela'han did...does… loudly. I seriously thought about stuffing a pillow in his mouth or something. I'm surprised we all didn't kill each other in that small ship.

Then, we made it to Moorja… with only one small problem. Somehow, we lost our thruster fuel. I'm not sure how. Something that A2 did while fixing something else on the ship. Yahnna was going to have to do a controlled crash landing, right into the mouth of the little Imperial listening outpost. I buckled in, figuring that Yahnna was going to pull off one of her amazing stunts.

It was amazing alright… all the way until the end when we crashed. I think Jela'han's seatbelt broke because he slammed into the back of me and I was seeing stars long past us stopping. The Imperial Storm troopers and other military officers had to come save us from the wreckage of the ship. Jela'han did a darned good job wailing and convincing everyone that that wreckage of a ship was all that he had in the whole universe and convincingly told the Commander in charge that our papers were on that burning ship.

We then spent the next four days under the tender and loving guard of the Imperial Storm troopers. I thought WE were paranoid. These guys take it to a new extreme. They wouldn't even let us shower or go to the bathroom by ourselves. We were escorted singly and watched. That first shower was a hard one for me. I finally pretended the Storm trooper was just a statue and got myself clean. Darned embarrassing!

I did make one pathetic attempt to seduce the doctor but he shrugged it off. Just as well. I wouldn't have known what to do with him if I caught him. Anyway, we needed to bide our time until the shuttle got there. The Commander said that we were going to be put on a medical shuttle but none came. By this time, we figured that we actually going to put us on the shuttle we were sent to steal.

When the shuttle did arrive, we were ordered to our cots and handcuffed there. While we were alone, A2 managed to get out of his restraining bolt to free Yahnna, who freed the rest of us. Then, Matthew, the big handsome brute that he is, killed the guard as he came back through the door. Jela'han had stolen the Doctor's ID earlier and we used that that look around.

When we saw the Commander and the other guard returning, we scurried back our prison and waited. Matthew had the helmet of the Storm trooper and used it to smash in the head of the Commander while Geehan shot the other guard. Me? I just stayed the heck out of the way.

Then, a call came over the com-unit for the Commander, Jela'han did the most amazing job mimicking the Commander's voice and actually managed to order all of the rest of the Imperials out of the hanger. That just left the two pilots in the shuttle. It was a race between me and Matthew who would get to them first with out them seeing us.

Matthew won and had killed the first one by the time I got there and covered the second one. No. I didn't kill him. There was no need. He surrendered peacefully. Matthew and Yahnna dealt him, disarming him and kicking him out of the shuttle.

Yahnna and Jela'han took over the pilots' seats while the rest of us found spots in the back of the shuttle, except for Matthew. After Yahnna took off, they torpedoed the buildings so the Imperials couldn't call for help. I was actually pretty glad that no one was left in the buildings. Yeah, it would be uncomfortable for a bit but we kept the killing to a minimum, for which, I am thankful.

We headed off to Moorja. It only took us one day and Jela'han provided us with a fake ID for the shuttle in the meantime. For 24 hours, we were an Imperial Deep Space Salvage Team.

Moorja is basically one huge landfill. We went to the provided coordinates and met up with our contact, a man named Tovorian. Nice, gruff man that sort of reminded me of Captain Garryn of the PDF-42. He was genuinely pleased at receiving the Lambda shuttle and handed over the keys and papers to our new ship to Yahnna. And we made arrangements with Tovorian to deliver the rest of our stuff from Dyyra to a spot of our choosing.

I own 30% of this ship and it feels good. I swear, me and Yahnna floated up that ramp. She is truly a beautiful ship. Fully loaded. A definite space yacht. We jumped on that ship and took off for parts unknown. Just to leap into hyperspace and listen to this ship *purr*. It was so wonderful!

Yahnna, of course, took the Captain's quarters and I got the XO's quarters… though, I'm not sure if I'm going to be a good XO or not. I'm not even sure why I'm doing this. Probably because I need an anchor for a while. Somewhere to belong while I figure out I'm going to proceed with my life.

I mean, the rebellion needs me and I need to continue my training with Val. I have to, but I'm not sure when I'm going to see Val again. In the meantime, I have to learn about this ship, learn about decryption so I decrypt that Jedi journal and continue practicing what I do know how to do. I will meet up with Val again. I know it. I just want to have something to show for myself in the meantime.

Now, I'm going to go meet up with Yahnna and follow the age old tradition of getting extremely drunk and christening our ship with a new name…

[Special shot, unknown to Duvessa or anyone else on the new ship.]

As the new space yacht, and our heroes, leap safely into hyperspace and out of the Dyyra system, {{{Lucas Film Wipe}}} to a shot of the Star Destroyer Relentless entering into the Dyyra system and taking an orbit around Dyyra. On the bridge of the Star Destroyer is Admiral Zaraiath, standing with a dark cloaked figure. Both are looking out the viewport to Dyyra.

An operator at the communications grid turns to Admiral Zaraiath. "Sir, I just received word from our forces. We have control of the planet, but they have not found the traitors." He pauses. "And they report that a couple of ships managed to escape during the beginning part of the occupation."

The dark cloaked figure is still. "It seems you have failed me, Admiral."

The Admiral shakes his head. "We are here, just as you ordered."

The cloaked figure gestures sharply. "Do not fail me again."

Admiral Zaraiath straightens his uniform, speaking calmly. "We will find them." He assures the man.

"No, you won't, Admiral. Not here." The cloaked figure turns, revealing nothing more than a dark shadow within the cloak. "I don't sense them anymore." Then, he strides away, off the bridge.

FADE.

Oh, my aching head. I can barely see. By the Force, Admiral, if someone offers you Othlass, turn it down! If you value your life, throw it away. *moan* I don't think I'll die but I wish someone would shoot me. *groan* And people do this to themselves all the time? I mean, yes, Othlass tastes good after a couple of swallows and makes you feel all warm and tingly… but I don't think this is worth it.

I don't remember all of last night, but I do remember we christened our new ship, the Star Chaser. I like it. Yahnna likes it. We even thought of some alternate ID names: Smooth Sailing and Windfall. I like those, too.

*groan* It hurts to smile. A shower… I need a shower and water... Yahnna wants me down in the engine room to learn everything I can about these engines as soon as I can. Looks like I picked up some of my brother's engineering skills after all.

Talk to you later.
