A Killer Party
I don't know where I am but I do know who my captor is. And I know that I've never really known him. I've been here for two days as far as I can tell by my watch. There is nothing to do in here. No TV, no books. Only pen and paper. I must do something or I will go crazy. I guess I will tell you the story of how I got here.
I was dressed in the cigarette girl uniform when I got to the party. It was a costume party and a live action game. The live action game was a "Killer" or "Assassination" type game. I was a spy, pretending to be a cigarette girl. The goals of the evening: 1. Survive. 2. Kill my target (and anyone else who I discovered) 3. Get the `plans' to the bomb. My captor was there. He was dressed as the Phantom. Of course, at this time, I didn't know that he would kidnap me or that he was playing the game for keeps. All I knew is that, somehow, he knew I was in danger and saved me from being crushed under a falling chandlier. Apparently, he could sense if a person was in immediate danger and was compelled to save them. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. When he saved me from the falling chandlier with a diving tackle, he said, "Remember this. You owe me." as he got up and walked away. I hadn't seen his face. I remember thinking that that was odd. Almost like he didn't want to save me but had to.... and since he did, he might as well exploit it. The party was a lot of fun. I was winning the game as far as I could tell. At least from my end. The Phantom seemed to be winning from his end, too. I had just discovered two for-real dead bodies. I was about to scream for help when I turned around and the Phantom was there, watching me. I thought I was next. He just look at me and said, "It's time to pay what you owe me. Come on." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind him. I had no choice but to follow. We went up into a high tree house, across the lake from the house with the party. He had me watch the house while he looked through a photo album. I was frightened and numb. I didn't know who the Phantom was. I knew it had to be someone that I knew. But, I hoped it was the friend of a friend. I couldn't think about one of my friends being so insane. He stiffened when he heard a certain female laughter. Looking, we saw two people, a male and a female, laughing, hugging, kissing and giggling as they went down the pier to a sail boat. The Phantom said nothing. He pulled me to look at the photo album. I didn't know what I was looking for. It was a bunch of pictures of the boat at the end of the pier. "I want to electrocute the boat, but it just can't be done." He sighed. I looked at the pictures and immediately saw that it could be done. "Sure, it can." I said without thinking, "All you have to do is...." as I pointed to one spot on one the pictures. As I said this, I realized what I was doing and I saw that he saw what I meant. I was horrified at what I had just done. "Yes!! That will do it." he muttered. I was so scared. I knew what was coming next. I saw a rope that I knew I could grab and swing out from the treehouse over the lake. I tensed as he looked at me.... "Of course, this means I'm going to have to kill you...." He said and started to reach for me. I leaped to the rope and swung out over the water. I could hear him laughing in my mind. He had no worries of my escape, he was a much better swimmer than I. As he dove into the lake he saw that I had overshot it and was actually headed towards the house. His danger sense didn't go off, so he knew I'd make it... much to his chagrin. As I landed on the side of the house, on the trellese, I heard him think. "Of course, I didn't know about the trellese... well, it will make the chase that much more interesting." It was weird hearing his thoughts. Awful too. I knew he didn't feel any remorse for his past actions. I scrambled up the trellese. Somehow, it had become night and everything was dark. I couldn't really see as I hurried over the roof. I didn't know where I was going. Then, he was right behind me! I moved faster until I came to the edge of the roof. I looked back at him, not knowing what to do. He was frightening and I still couldn't see his face. "Dammit! Be careful!" He shouted to me as I teattered on the edge. "What do you care?! You want to kill me, anyway!" I looked frantically for somewhere to go, to escape. "It's just a role-playing game!! I wouldn't hurt you! It's just a game!" "Oh yeah? What about those people in the boat?! You're going to really kill them!" "But that's different!! Jenn, stop, come away from the edge...." "Why is that diff---" A huge gust of wind knocked me off of the edge. I screamed but managed to catch a hold of the edge of the roof as I fell. I was so high up. I knew I would die if I fell. I could hear the Phantom. He was below me out of a window. Everytime the wind grabbed me, I couldn't help but scream. The Phantom seemed to teleport to various windows to try a catch me as the wind threw my body around. "Help me!!" I screamed as I felt myself slipping. Then I fell. And then I was caught. The Phantom had caught me and saved my life again. He held me close as he pulled us in through the window and sat down on a bed. "Whew, that was close." I could hear his heart beating really fast. I looked up and was surprised at who I saw. It was my friend Brooke. He smiled at me. "You know, I've always liked you." He whispered in my ear. Then he made his hand into the shape of a gun. "Bang. You're dead. You can't play in the game anymore." I relaxed a little. `Ok, so he isn't a total psycho.' I thought. He put me on the bed. I closed my eyes. It had been a stressful night. I was still scared though. There were at least two dead bodies that I knew of. And I knew that Brook wanted to kill that man and woman. I started to ask but stopped as he started speaking. "Why don't you take a nap." He murmured to me. Then I felt a cloth come over my nose and mouth. Startled, my eyes flew open and I gasped. I could smell the liquid on the cloth. It was sweet. I struggled, but he held it firmly to my face. As I lost consciousness, I could hear him. "You know I own you now. Twice, I saved your life." He stroked my hair and then got up. "I'll be back for you later. I have some unfinished business to deal with. Sleep well, Jennifer." He paused. "Yes, I've always liked you." I heard the door shut and lock. Then I heard nothing and spiraled into darkness....
I woke up here, in this room. I wonder when Brook will reveal his plans for me. I'm scared. I've been here for two days. Sometimes, I wonder if he has killed that man and woman. Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I sleep. He thinks he owns me. Occassionally, I wonder if it is Brook at all. I am lost. Trapped in this room. Alone and afraid. I don't know what to think. There is a key rattling in the door. I can only ho
(Note: Brook is a very sweet friend and I have no clue why he showed up as the bad guy in this dream. Let me assure you that the Brook in the dream bears no resemblance to the real Brook, other than I'm sure he'd try to save a person's life if he could.)
