Wachovia Sucks!

My life of alter egos....

I admit it. I'm a Gaming (role-playing) addict. Table top, Live action or online. I've played AD&D*, White Wolf: Mage*, Vampire, Changling (learning), TransLight, Marvel Superheros, Champions, Top Secret*, Imagine, NERO, AI, FLAGS, TAG, KAOS and a host of others that I can't remember right now. (*favorites)

I guess my favorite type of gaming is Live action. (Though, I love them all) Where you actually 'become' your character. Think improvisational acting. Once every 6 weeks or so, from about 7pm to 2am on a Saturday night, you get (or continue) a character with stats, abilities, enemies, allies and goals... along with 50 other players and you interact. Things you do in a previous game have a bearing on what you do in this current game. And there is usually an over all plot line for the evening, cooked up by the game masters. All in all, it's just good, creative fun.

  • Now, some people find it very, very hard to "get into character." Mostly, it is because they have not thought of the little things that makes a person a person - likes, dislikes, biases and such. These days, when we begin a new campaign or a new character, we are required (OK, not required, but it is very helpful for the GMs) to fill out the 100 Questions Plus Essay "Test" created by THE Rich Taylor(TM). I think you will find it very useful, too. Oh, and check out the 'Wisdom of Imaginary People.'

Below is a List of Favorite "alter egos" from all games.

Marlena Braddock [Table top, 1994-present] (Translight, Code Black) - Weapons and demolisions expert. Usually, the `distraction' of the team. Forever getting into (and out of) trouble. An adrenaline junkie. Mostly played (written about) in Code Black with partners Jason and Andrea or played sole in Translight. Liquid crystal hair and blue eyes.

Elea Clearlight [Table top, Online, 1990-present] (2nd Ed. AD&D Bard) - The product of a human male and elven Lady. Her Uncle never let her forget the 1/2 human side. He hated her. She left home at 18 to make her way in the world. Has become quite the mage/Bard. Bright and happy most of the time. Black hair, blue eyes

Brianna Starfire [Table top, 1992-present] (2nd Ed. AD&D Swashbuckler) - Half elven female born of noble parents. Always the scandal of the court. She loves the attention, though. Bright, cocky, intelligent and cannot pass up a dare, challenge or quest. She is quite the outgoing character. Red her, green eyes.

Bethany Versaw [Table top, 1994-present] (WoD: Mage) - Cult of Estacy mage. Based in Portland, OR. Moved to San Francisco and joined a cabal. Has a soul sister who is Celestial Chorus. Hedonistic to the max! Current SO is Jake, the Chantry's Head security man... erm, Werebear. They have a daughter. Bethany specializes in Mind magic. Arete 4 and all spheres except matter. Red hair, green eyes.

Sara Novakowski [Live action, 1994-1996 Retired] (WoD: Vampire) - 10th generation Ventrue. Long and wild history in this character's life. Broke blood bond to sire, contracted Vissitude from a passing Archon, 3 derangements and faked her own death, becoming Amanda Thrain. Had to retire her before she became completely psycho. Totally fun to play. Brown hair, brown eyes.

Amara Song [Live Action, 1996-present] (WoD: Vampire) - 9th generation Gangrel, Fairly new character with a LOT of secrets. Gypsy blood. Quite a fiesty character. Has the frenzy sign of green cat eyes. Clan status 2. Black hair, green cat's eyes.

Christine Black/Stephanie White/Kayla Versaw [Live Action, 1995-1996, Deceased] (WoD: Vampire) - 11th generation Malkavian. Sweet, little, split-personality kook. Lots of fun to play. One of my all time favorites. Unfortunately, she was murdered by an assimite who was making sure that a certain magic artifact that she found didn't end up in the hands of the Tremere Clan. *sigh* Brown hair, blue eyes.
