Alicia Ebara

Character: Alicia Ebara
GAME: Tales from the Edge
Type: Table Top
Genre: Star Wars
Species: Human
Real Name: Alicia Ebara
Nick names: None
Age: 22
Profession: Ex-Imperial Special Courier. Rebel Slicer.

Alicia Ebara was your typical Imperial citizen. She grew up in a middle class lifestyle. Her father was a low ranking officer who worked in the Computer Support and Repair department. She and her family towed the party line without too much trouble. They were protected, sheltered and, of course, ruled over by the Empire.

Growing up around computers all her life, Alicia naturally became a computer expert. She learned to code and to hack. She was just doing it for fun, really. Not to disobey the Empire's Laws or anything like that. After all, the Empire was protecting them from aliens and the wanton destruction of the rebels.

Very early in her life, Alicia was given the opportunity to accept a high paying, but occassionally dangerous, job of becoming a courier for the Empire. Wishing to excel at this job, she agreed to have a computer placed in her head. This computer was for data storage only. On top of that, only a particular type of computer could download the information. Once it went into her head, Alicia had no way of reading the data, nor downloading it. This made her a very valuable courier in the eyes of top ranking Imperial officers.

For the past two years, she has been enjoying a life of luxury being a top rate courier with the highest security clearance a courier could get. Most of the time, her courier jobs were actual physical packages. She never looked into them. Honestly, she did not care what they were. She was paid not to be curious. Occassionally, she would be called in to transport some valuable data. These runs made her a little nervous and a little excited. She knew that she was carrying very important information that others would want. However, with the data jack at the back of her head covered by her long brown hair, no one ever knew what she was and she was never bothered.

Alicia never thought of Empire as Evil or Bad. Yes, there were some strict rules and the military types were a bit high strung , especially the officers, but that was necessary for the protection of all Imperial citizens every where. However, she was uncomfortable with some of the things she saw done on her courier runs in the name of the Empire. Especially the way criminals were treated. But they were criminals... so they probably deserved what they got. Right? In any case, that would never be her. She was an Imperial citizen and always would be.

At least, that was what she thought until recently. Six days ago, Alicia was on one of her special runs. She knew there was a lot of data in her head this time. Mostly because she actually had a headache after the download. She did not know her final destination either. She was headed towards an Imperial outpost near Generis in the Atrivis Sector. Once there, she would connect up with her contact and they would give her the final destination. This was not too unusual. Sometimes, the final destination was on a moving target like a Star Destroyer and you never know where one of them would be.

For this leg of the journey, she was on a small public cruise ship. Alicia suspected she would be on a Lambda shuttle for the second half, so she decided to make the best of it now and enjoy the facilities. She was asleep when the attack on her ship occurred. Suddenly, there were explosions, alarms blaring and lights flashing. Moving faster than she ever thought she could, she jumped into her pressure suit, frightened for her life.

She stayed in her small private room until the door was broken down and she was captured by raiders. Relying on her training, Alicia told them the truth - she was a courier on her way to Generis. However, she had a dummy package already rigged up to hand over. Treated non-too-gently, she was ushered into the raiders' ship along with a couple other passengers.

Alicia had spent a harrowing two hours stuffed in a small room with three other people, wondering if she was going to die, when she heard explosions and alarms all over the raiders' ship. At first, she was incredibly relieved to see the stormtroopers coming to her rescue. However, the way they pushed and shoved her around shocked her. She tried to tell them who she was and what had happened but they would not listen. She was locked up in an Imperial detention cell where she waited for hours for someone to come talk to her. She could not believe that she was being treated so poorly. She was an Imperial citizen, not a criminal!

Finally, an Imperial intelligence officer arrived and began to question her. She tried to tell him what had happened and who she was but he would not let her speak. He questioned her and requestioned her several times about what she was doing on the cruise ship and then on the raider ship. The officer became visibly upset when she calmly identified herself as a Special Courier and gave her designation. When she finally was able to tell him that she was, in fact, on a mission of some importance for the Empire, the junior office called his superior, requesting instructions.

Alicia's heart sank when she heard the other officer coldly state, "Hold her in the detention cell until we reach our destination. Then, we will have an interrogation droid deal with her." The junior officer blandly ignored her panicked protests, walking out without a backwards glance.

She was almost without hope by the time they reached their destination. During the last few hours, the veil had been ripped from her eyes and she had been forced to acknowledge what she had been trying to hide from herself. The Empire was not a benevolent government protecting its citizens from harm. Instead, it really was an evil dictatorship run by even more evil people.

Along with one other prisoner, Alicia was brought out to the dock under heavy guard. When she tried to talk to one of the officers again, trying to get them to listen to her, to help her, she was struck hard in the stomach with a rifle butt by one of the stormtrooper guards. That abruptly cut her off, dropped her to the ground in severe pain, gasping for breath. The other prisoner moved to help her.

Once again, for the third time, explosions rang out around them and suddenly, Alicia was in the middle of a hail of laser blasts. The other prisoner grabbed her arm, hissing at her. "If you want to live, you've got to come with me now. Otherwise, you can face the interrogation droid. You choice."

Alicia looked at him then the officer who had refused to listen to her and made up her mind in a blink of an eye. Suddenly, she was off and running with her fellow prisoner helping her towards a couple of other rough looking men. They were hustled onto a ship and that took off like a bat out of hell.

Alicia did not really listen to the hushed argument between her savior and his men but she knew that they were asking about her. She did not hear the final decision but her savior came back to her with a device that took off her cuffs. He offered her his hand. "I'm Garret."

For a moment, she stared at him, still feeling overwhelmed and a bit frightened. Then, she took his hand and shook it. "Alicia."

That was three days ago.

Now, she knows she is wanted by the Empire for a number of crimes, including consorting with rebels, treason, theft of data, conspiracy, terrorist activities and murder. She has no idea where she is going but she knows she can never go home again.

Quote: "Damn the Empire for ripping my rose colored glasses away! Damn them for forcing me to see the Evil that it is!"

Monthly

Cassandra was born at 1:01am on January 1st, 1901 to Donna and Jonathan Delanie. An auspicious date and time to her superstitious mother. She was also born with a caw, another clear sign that this child would have psychic abilities. Cassie's well-to-do parents could afford Donna's eccentric hobbies

Cassie grew up knowing that she was a 'special child' who was destined for great things. She was an intelligent and beautiful. Precocious in her ability to read and write. Quickly, she learned to love the rhyming word, making up poetry on the spot to impress her father's business partners.

Cassandra grew to a lovely young woman whom her father showed off with grew pride. All the while, she grew more and more distant from the mother who first delighted in her most 'special child.' As Cassie grew older, her father would bring her to business dinners and parties for her get a feel for the people her father was working with and to see if she could glean any interesting information from them. Her father and his business partners were all very rich and intelligent enough to avoid going to war in 1911.

Late, in 1916, just before she turned sixteen, Cassandra's mother took ill and died of a wasting disease. Sad at the loss of her mother, Cassie could not help but thank the stars above that it was her mother who died, and not her father. She used the death of her mother to avoid the boys her own age, telling all would-be suitors that she had to take care of her poor bereft father.

By the time she was twenty-three, her father began to worry for his daughter. He loved her very much but it was high time that she find a husband to care for instead of tending to him. He was discouraged by her refusal of all he brought to her, saying, "Oh Daddy, you know I could never leave you."

This was when Ian Sinclair entered the picture. He was a well known philanthropist and patron of the arts, especially of those arts that dealt with painting or his Scottish heritage. It was said that he owned several castles in Scotland and could trace his lineage to the Templar Knights of old.

And indeed, Ian Sinclair seemed to find the lovely young Cassandra Delanie a charming beauty. He would listen to her poetry for hours, seeming to get lost in it, only to gently urge her to recite more when she would finish. He was the proper gentleman at all times. It was months before he asked to court Cassandra and, even then, he, as a proper gentleman would, asked permission of Jonathan first.

By August 1st, 1925, Cassandra asked to move in with Ian, so that she could take better care of him. It was at this time that Ian did reveal to her, his dark secret and opened her eyes to world of the vampyre. Much startled at first, Cassandra still loved Ian very much. It explained the feelings her talent had given her and confirmed the death of her father was not from a gunshot wound. She eargerly became Ian's ghoul as he started teaching her more about his secret world.

On her 25th birthday, January 1st, 1926, Ian offered Cassandra the Kiss. She accepted immediately. Ian was her world and wanted to stay with him always. Upon her embrace, he christened her Cassandra Lynn Delphi, his Child. No longer was Ian just her lover. He was also now her Father.

Eris Bayberry

Character: Eris Bayberry
GAME: Sekt Valir
Type: Table Top
Genre: Storyboard
Species: Feyani
Real Name: Eris Bayberry
Nick names: None
Age: 19
Profession: Healer
Eris Bayberry grew up in the town of Bayberry on the outskirts of Sekt-Valir. The daughter of Alana Bayberry and a passing Fae of Light, she is pretty in an unconventional fashion and has the uncanny ability to blend into her surroundings. Jonathan Twilleger, Alana's husband, raised her as his own daughter, knowing that one could not explain the Fae and their odd nature. Little did anyone know that Eris' father kept in touch with his daughter.

The Bayberrys were well known healers - physical, psychic and mental. They were well regarded in the small town they lived in and were even known of in the main city of Sekt-Valir. Eris' blood was true to her maternal family's talent and she followed in her mother's steps as a healer. She began to show her psychic healing abilities at the age of 13. She also began to show some of her fae nature as well - her eyes glowing blue in the dark, the ability to make wild plants grow at her whim and the ability to create faerie fire.

Eris was fairly well liked as a child, though, some feared her for her Fae looks and Fae nature. However, all within the town trusted her healing, compassionate ways. She was forever bringing home hurt and lost animals to heal and then set free. Her attitude caught the attention of a missionary of Arlannia, Tatannia, who taught Eris about her Goddess. It was a perfect match. From that time on, Eris was a faithful member of the Order.

When she was 15, her town was the target of a slave raider attack. In horror, she watched her home destroyed before her eyes; her family and friends killed or enslaved. She, herself, was enslaved and sold to Lord Linaeus Atacenes of Lune. For four long years, Eris was a slave to this sadist madman until the Moonward sons freed her and her fellow slaves in a daring rescue.

Once she was returned to Sekt Valir, the Lord of the City, Lord Maldry IV, discovered her within two days, took her under his wing and into his employment as a healer of the body and the mind. This is where she has been for the last year.

Eris Bayberry is tall, impossibly slender and graceful with long dark hair and dark eyes that have an unsettling habit of glowing blue in the dark. Her eyes are slightly slanted and her ears are slightly pointed. She favors nice but functional clothing in browns and creams - usually long skirts, peasant blouses and a bodice with a belt that holds several pouches. She almost always has a backpack filled the tools of her trade with her.

Quote: "I'm a healer. I wouldn't dream of harming another unless there was no way around it and it was a do or die situation."

Sigrid "Hottie" Hottenger Aberrant Brick Age: 26 Ht: 5'10" Wt: 210 Nova Eruption Date: 23 June, 2009 Nova Name: Stratha (aka StoneFist) Occupation: Sports physcian

Sigrid Hottenger was one of the up and coming female weight lifters of Venice Beach, CA. Born and bred to sun and sand, having the perfect body was a natural goal to Sigrid. Her Nordic looks and heritage very quickly gave her the nickname "Hottie" in the weight lifting circles for her ability to be muscular and feminine at the same time. Then, suddenly, she dropped out of sight and, like so many failed before her, out of mind.

No one knew that Sigrid had erupted. In fact, at first, she did not realize she had erupted. Working out with just another weight lifter who was jealous of her form, Sigrid was sabotaged. Her competitor and spotter, Jane Wilkenson, sought to damage her competition by adding 100 pounds to the bench bar instead of the requested 10 pounds. Then, she excused herself to make a phone call, knowing that Sigrid would attempt to bench press without a spotter and would be seriously injured.

As expected, Sigrid did attempt to bench press without a spotter but, instead of being injured, she bulled her way through the extra weight without realizing that it was much heavier than it should have been and without realizing that the dangerous situation had caused her to erupt. However, she did get a horrible headache and staggered home for rest.

It took her a couple days to figure out what had happened and why she kept accidently breaking things. Once she figured it out, she was elated... until she realized that she could never compete or bodybuild again. She was a Nova. She did some reach on Novas and the various organizations they could join and was not pleased with any of them. Finally, she decided, in order to save her privacy and the privacy of her family, she would never let the world know that she was now one of the... freaks, heros, demons, elite...

She turned all her energy into her finishing schooling and quickly gained her degree in sports medicine. After that, she was hired on by the local university to see to their sports teams. Sigrid was very happy there, making a decent living. It was almost enough to make up for being forced to give up her dreams of competition.

Sigrid does not like or dislike being a nova. She has slowly considered her options, deliberating how best to serve the needs of the world while not compromising her safty or the safety of her family. When the Foundation opportunity was dropped into her lap, she decided that it was time to take a risk.

Sigrid is an only child of Vera and Par Hottenger, 1st generation Americans. All of her grandparents are still alive and are in the Netherlands, living it up. Both of her parents were very pleased when Sigrid dropped out of weight lifting competition, thinking that it was not stable enough for their daughter. Neither parent knows she is a Nova. Her mother is suspicious of Novas as "not natural" and her father thinks Novas are "neat."

Quote: "Knowledge for knowledge's sake is one of the purest virtues one can strive for."

Urged on by the tales of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the Second Crusade from 1141, Isabeau joined King Richard the Lion-hearted during the Third Crusade at the tender age of 12 in 1172. With stars in her eyes, romantic thoughts of a future like one Eleanor's women Crusaders and fleeing the idea that she would have to marry within the next year, Isabeau had much to learn and much growing up to do.

She spent the next four years as part of the Crusade. She was supposed to only "tend the wounded" and "wash clothing", but in reality, she occassionally found along side the men. It was a hard but rewarding life in her eyes as she fought for King and country.

In 1176, at age 16, Isabeau returned home after receiving word that her father had died. By the time she reached there, the family homestead was all but ruined by her mother's inability to run property or command the workers. If there was one thing Isabeau learned in the Crusades, it was how to organize and lead. She immediately put her talents to use.

It was not easy. She had to fight verbally, and once, physically, with the men to get them to see things her way and to convince them that they really did want to obey her when on her land. In the end, the Isabeau overcame all obstacles to make her farm one of the most successful in the Aquitaine kingdom. She even bought up most of the surrounding farms to add to her growing estate. She simply added the families and workers of those lands to her own work force, treating and paying them well.

Isabeau was also one of the first Matriarchs to employ female warriors to help guard her successful estate. She was an maverick for her time and many of the men whispered that she had lost her natural maternal and loving instincts that made woman. That she had killed hundreds in the Crusades and despite her feminine dress, she was not even a woman at all anymore.

However, she was still very much a woman. That much became evident in 1182. When she was 22, she bore a son to her Captain of the Guard, Warren, another ex-Crusader. She never married her lover, but she was obviously very fond of him and he of her. Warren died in a bandit raid in 1184. That summer, Isabeau personally lead her guards and a small mercenary force to methodically eradicate all of the bandit gangs in the area.

A year later, Isabeau learned the consequences of her grief and rage filled actions in the form of a demon-man who slaughtered her men and introduced her into hell on earth in order to pay for her mistake.
